Beefy Mac

Need a simple, quick & easy dinner idea?  With the price of food constantly increasing, I went back to some old family favorites.

This recipe is simple and easy to prepare under an hour. There are plenty of ways to spice it up or go gluten free.

Basic recipe:

1 or 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef (depends on how much beef you like or size of family)

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, dried parsley

2 tablespoons finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons light olive oil, or your favorite vegetable oil

2 15-ounce cans of Tomato sauce

1 16-ounce box of elbow macaroni cooked

In a skillet or Dutch oven pot, add oil & onions until onions are soft.

In a bowl, add ground beef & Worcestershire sauce blend together. Add the seasonings, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning & dried parsley to your likely.  I do not measure these, just sprinkle them over the meat & blend until all are incorporated into the meat.  Then brown in the skillet with the oil & onions.  Drain any excessive oil off.

You can leave the beef in the pot, add the tomato sauce and cooked macaroni then return to stove to heat thoroughly, usually 10-15 minutes.  You can add some parmesan cheese (shaved parmesan works great) and/or additional seasonings to your taste.
