The Spirit of America

A Message From Rose

If we look closely at the current state of our nation, we see the scars of years of neglect. Those who have been charged with the preservation and protection of our constitution have failed us. Many in DC seem to care more about their status and their payoffs than they care about representing us and safeguarding our constitution. Government is an industry and as with all industries it has its own special interests and a desire to grow, to increase its power and influence. Unlike industries in the private sector, it does not produce wealth so it must take wealth by force. It does so through taxes, regulations, and asset forfeiture. It redistributes that wealth with the purpose of a political outcome as opposed to a beneficial economic outcome.

The organizing principles of our constitutional republic are church, family and community in that order. The only thing that stands in the way of government becoming the organizing principle of society and culture is the Constitution, which stands in the way of just about every progressive agenda item. That is why they hate it and why they seek every way possible around it.

What kind of place would this be, this America, if the spirit of our forefathers were completely extinguished? The men and women who forged this republic did so by making great sacrifices and taking huge risks. They invested in our future by giving so freely of their present.

America is great because it can be. And it can be because it’s free. As taxes, regulations and executive orders increase, our freedom decreases. All-powerful central planners dictating economics, politics, and culture to the people supposedly to create a utopia is a very old idea. Trible leaders, kings, queens, emperors, and more recently the divine right of bureaucrats. They all end in great wealth for the few and disaster for the many. These ancient ideas in all their iterations have failed 100% of the time, and yet they continue to intoxicate those who would rule over us and seduce those foolish enough to give up their freedom in exchange for their empty promises.

We can’t allow ourselves to move backwards towards tyranny. We must stay the course of freedom. Our freedom was so essential that the founders were willing to sacrifice their own blood and fortunes to secure it.

We must remember what it was that made this country great in the first place, men, and women with a vision. A vision for freedom and liberty. A vision for a safe haven.
