A revival event at Texas A&M University drew nearly 1,500 students, with 62 individuals being baptized.

The event, which featured worship and testimonies, took place in Kyle Field and was organized by student ministries. It was part of a larger spiritual awakening that has been spreading across campuses nationwide, highlighting a renewed interest in faith among young people.

The event’s organizers and participants expressed hope for continued spiritual growth and community impact.

New Life Young Adults Pastor Tarik Whitmore told The Christian Post that he preached at the gathering.

“This was followed by testimonies from students and former students — sharing how God saved them, set them free, healed them physically, and is now using them to change the lives of others,” Whitmore said.

“As the altar was opened, there was an invitation given to profess faith in Jesus through water baptism, receive prayer for healing and receive prayer for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”

Whitmore said organizers witnessed “many touched by the power of God,” which included “spontaneously weeping and trembling,” with some doing so “as they were coming up out of the waters of baptism.”

Last month, several football players from Ohio State University led a revival night with thousands in attendance.

Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson, wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, and former OSU wide receiver Kamryn Babb led the service, according to The Lantern, a student-run newspaper.

Babb told service attendees that he felt the “weight, the love, the grace, the mercy of God wrap [him] like a blanket” as his Uber driver prayed for him on his way to the John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

“I was just doing my thing because it was fun, and I’ll tell you this: I was on High Street, and I enjoyed it,” Babb said. “I had fun. But at the same time, I didn’t recognize my condition. I was spiritually dead. I could go out there, and I could smile and laugh … but on the inside, I was broken.”
