Her Times Are In His Hands

By Cindy, Contributing Editor

There often comes a time in a woman’s life when she begins to look outside of her comfort zone and notices that life is not as she envisioned it would be when in her formative years.  In enters thoughts of confusion, concern, and an overall feeling of uncertainty.  She asks herself, “Should I get involved?”  “At what cost?”  “Do I have the stamina and support to endure what could come my way?”  “Do I even have the courage to speak up?”

There is a Biblical account of a woman who faced just such dilemmas.  Her story takes place some 2,500 years ago in the ancient kingdom of Persia, known today as Iran.  Through a series of events, she finds herself assuming responsibility for an entire culture: God’s chosen people, the Jews.  The decisions she had to make would determine whether people would live or die.  This included her own life.

With God there are no coincidences.  And no question of His providence.  Esther rose from the life of a peasant girl to become queen to the king of Persia.  In this position, she risked her own life and was able to prevent annihilation of the Jews, a line of people that would eventually produce the Messiah Himself.

God has a plan for each of us.  For Esther, she was placed in such a time to be used as His instrument to deliver His children.  We, too, in our present circumstances are here “for such a time as this”: to be God’s hands and feet and to love sacrificially, just as Jesus loved; to walk alongside each other with encouragement and support; and, always with love and grace, to speak up, even at a cost.

We welcome you with open arms, dear daughter of the King, to join us as we answer His call --- for such a time as this.
