New York Public Elementary School Omits Israel from Map

An elementary school in Brooklyn, New York omitted Israel on a map, instead labeling it Palestine.

The map was used for an Arab Culture Arts program.

The school is now being accused of “Jewish erasure,” according to the New York Post.

Tova Plaut, a New York City public school instructional coordinator for pre-K through fifth grade classrooms, told The Free Press that she believes the map is “concerning.”

“It’s not just that we’re experiencing Jewish hate in NYC public schools, we’re actually experiencing Jewish erasure,” Plaut said. “And here is proof of that.”

“The fact that there is a map out there that does not represent what the world actually looks like is troubling. We’re giving children misinformation,” Plaut added.

According to a Department of Education spokesperson, the map portrays “countries that speak Arabic.”
