High School Graduate Receives Diploma After Apologizing for Acknowledging Jesus in Speech

A recent high school graduate from Kentucky was unable to receive his diploma until he apologized for mentioning Jesus in his graduation speech.

Micah Price received his diploma five days after graduation.

Price told local news outlet WXIX that he submitted eight drafts of his speech and was instructed to remove the portions that discussed faith.

He said he “always wanted” to give a graduation speech, adding that he “prayed about it a lot.”

Price said in the speech, “My lord and savior is your answer. He will give you the truth, the way and the light. I must give the honor, the praise, and the glory to Jesus Christ.”

“I simply cannot hold back what Christ has done in my life,” Price told the outlet, explaining that he understood the consequences of highlighting his faith. “He’s everything to me.”

“I went against the rules. It’s my fault,” the graduate said. “I should be in trouble. I never wanted to bring hate to them or tear down the school,” Price said.

He said in a TikTok video that he will “continue to preach this message that I’ve been preaching this entire time. I’m not here to push a political agenda, I’m not here to push my agenda, I’m not here to say anything except for this one thing.”

“Christ deserves to be talked about. Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Christ is my Savior, my Lord, He’s my everything,” he added. “I’m here to push the Kingdom of Christ.”
